COLUMBIA, SC (Press Release) – The SC Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) recognized law enforcement officers and agencies Wednesday for their efforts in 2014 to enforce the state’s DUI laws and remove impaired drivers from South Carolina roadways.
SCDPS presented awards to officers and agencies in several categories and held drawings for agencies to win prizes including a vehicle during the 10th Annual DUI Enforcement Recognition and 2014 Law Enforcement DUI Challenge Ceremonies.
The following is a complete list of winners:
Officer of the Year (five categories based on size of agency):
1-10 officers: Patrolman First Class Evan McWilliams, Springdale Police Department, 25 DUI arrests
11-25 officers: Officer Travis Roberts, Clemson Police Department, 77 DUI arrests
26-50 officers: Patrolman Dale Burris, Camden Police Department, 30 DUI arrests
51-100 officers: Sergeant Tom Hathaway, Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, 69 DUI arrests
101 or more officers: Patrolman First Class Shon McCluskey, Myrtle Beach Police Department, 105 DUI arrests
