MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Police Lieutenant Joey Crosby says police received a “shots fired” call at Club Levelz at 515 9th Avenue North around 2:35 Sunday morning.
Crosby says when police arrived on the scene, they found a victim on the sidewalks. Crosby says EMS responded to the scene and determined the man, now identified as Saequan Vereen, 23, of Myrtle Beach, dead from at least one gun shot wound.
Crosby says further investigations revealed the shooter, who remains unnamed due to the ongoing investigation, had been shot by security guards that were hired by managers of Club Levelz.
As a result of that injury, Crosby says, the shooter was taken to the hospital and is now in police custody.
