MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Officers were on scene at the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union on 21st Avenue North investigating a suspicious package Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police Department says the Horry County police EOD Unit assisted.

The immediate area was secured and the credit union temporarily closed, Crosby said. 21st Avenue North was also closed between Grissom Parkway and Hemingway Street.

At 12:30 p.m., officials deemed the package safe and said the road and the bank would be reopened momentarily.
