MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) -Myrtle Beach police arrested a man Friday wanted by Pennsylvania police for taking a woman from a psychiatric hospital at gunpoint.

Lt. Joey Crosby says officers were called to the Walmart on Seaboard Street Friday at 1:22 p.m. about a shoplifting incident and took two people into custody.

Elliott Ravert, 18, and Alicia Buzzard, 21, both of Pennsylvania were arrested for shoplifting and were taken to Myrtle Beach jail.

Ravert is being held on additional charges of robbery,aggravated assault and terroristic threats he faces in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania State Police report Ravert entered Phil Haven Hospital in West Cornwall Township, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening armed with a handgun and removed Buzzard. Police aren’t sure if Buzzard willingly accompanied Ravert.

A timeline for Ravert’s extradition back to PA was not immediately known.
