The Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball team continues its effort to support its community. This year, the organization wants to honor veterans during military appreciation events.

Military Appreciation Saturday is every Saturday home game. The coordinators want to fill a suite at TicketReturn.com Field with veterans. They are currently taking nominations from community members.

May 14 is Military Appreciation Day. The goal of the event is to honor all veterans, but specifically Vietnam War veterans, as the team honors the war’s 50th anniversary.

Pelicans players will wear custom camouflage jerseys, and they will be auctioned at the end of the night. Proceeds from the event benefit Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc., Chapter 925.

Additionally, the first one thousand people into the stadium will receive a card deck that shows 36 Grand Strand veterans. Organizers are still accepting requests to be featured in the decks.
