MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a 2015 deadly shooting in a hotel parking lot.

Darrell Faqwan Deas, 35, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter on Tuesday, according to a press release from the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. A circuit court judge sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

The judge “followed a recommendation of a 15-year prison sentence for Deas, who had faced up to 30 years in prison for the manslaughter charge,” said the release. “It is a most serious violent offense and Deas must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence.”

On August 30, 2015, Latron Lewis, 30, was shot and killed in a hotel parking lot on 21st Ave. North “during an altercation with Deas, who produced a gun during the incident.”
