CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man will spend five years in prison for raping a woman in 2015.

According to a press release from the office of Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson, 25-year-old Jorge Estevan Sierra pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct Wednesday.

Prosecutors say in October 2015, Sierra went with the victim to her home to gather some of her belongings because she was afraid to travel alone because of flooding in the area.

While inside the victim’s home, Sierra began touching the woman. When the victim asked Sierra to stop, he pushed the victim on the bed and raped her, the release states. The victim tried to push Sierra away and repeatedly told him to stop, but he refused.

After she was attacked by Sierra, the victim locked herself in the bathroom and waited about 10 minutes for Sierra to leave before leaving the home to call police and go to the emergency room, prosecutors said.

At the hospital, a rape kit was performed and a DNA profile was developed, which matched Jorge Sierra.
