Myrtle Beach man faces federal drug charge

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man is in jail for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute oxycodone.

A press release from the office of United States Attorney Beth Drake says 30-year-old Leroy Anthony Griffin is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute oxycodone. Griffin faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine of $1,000,000.

While the press release did not give details of the arrest, it does specify that the case was investigated the Drug Enforcement Administration Tactical Diversion Squad and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, assisted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the Drug Enforcement Administration Florence Office, and the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit.
