CONWAY AREA, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man has been charged after a three-vehicle accident on 501 that killed one person and injured others.

Billy McCloud, 44, was booked on Thursday and charged with felony driving under the influence, death results and driving under the influence, great bodily injury. He remains in the  J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.

McClound was driving one of two vehicles heading north last week on Hwy 501 that collided with each other. The collision caused both vehicles to cross over the center line, according to Highway Patrol. The vehicles then struck a 2008 Ford Mustang that was traveling south, Collins said.

Flora Lorenzo Sanchez, of Myrtle Beach, died of injuries sustained in the accident, according to Patty Bellamy, deputy coroner with Horry County. Sanchez had been living in the Myrtle Beach area of about 20 years. 

The accident happened at about 7:10 p.m. on Hwy 501 and Wonderland Road.
