MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A woman told police she took out her pocket knife and cellphone when a man exposed himself and made obscene gestures at a Myrtle Beach laundromat.
Police officers were dispatched to the Night and Day Laundromat at 620 Broadway Street on Friday at about 10 p.m. for a public nudity, obscenity call. They met with the victim, who appeared to be “very scared and distraught.”
The victim told police a man wearing a dark T-shirt and carrying a book bag, possibly wearing jeans or khakis, was standing near a Coke machine inside the laundromat. She said the man “unzippered his pants, took out his penis and started rubbing it and making obscene gestures” at her, according to the report.
The woman said she took out her pocket knife and cellphone and called 911. She said she didn’t let the suspect see what she had or that she called, according to the report.
The man then left on foot, making a left out of the store’s front door, she said. A witness outside stated he observed a man run out of the store, making a left and then stopped and ran in the opposite direction.
Police located and charged William Bernard McFadden, 48, of Myrtle Beach, on Monday with two counts of indecent exposure.
