Myrtle Beach man charged with murder after stabbing

MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) – The Myrtle Beach Police Department has charged a man with murder.

Lonzie Carl Johnson, 74, of Myrtle Beach was arrested for stabbing another man on October 5th in Myrtle Beach. According to a police report, officers responded to 1503 Futrell Drive around 5 p.m.

In the report, a witness says Johnson and the victim were arguing when Johnson stabbed the victim in the left rear rib area while he was sitting down.

Officers said they found the suspect in his apartment and he was placed under arrest shortly thereafter.

According to police, the victim died from injuries sustained in the stabbing a few days later on October 9th.

Police said the incident is still being investigated.
