COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Daniel John Barrett, 49, of Myrtle Beach on eight charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General’s Office assisted with the investigation.
Investigators state that Barrett was in possession of child pornography.
Barrett was arrested on Dec. 2, 2016.
He is charged with eight counts Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Third Degree, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
