Myrtle Beach man arrested for indecent exposure in Surfside Beach

A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for indecent exposure.

A press release from the Surfside Beach Police Department says officers responded to a public beach access area near 811 N. Ocean Boulevard around 2 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving a report of a man exposing himself. 58-year-old Jacob Leon Parrott fled on foot onto a local beach, but officers were able to find and arrest him shortly after. Parrott is charged with one count of indecent exposure based on multiple witness statements and evidence from the scene.

According to the release, Parrott claims to be a local attorney. He has been charged in similar incidents in the past.

Kenneth Hofmann, the department’s Chief of Police, says Parrott’s behavior is “contrary to our family beach lifestyle and we are grateful that the witnesses took action and contacted the police.”
