Myrtle Beach man among 98 granted commutation by President Obama

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WBTW) – On Friday the President granted commutation of sentence to 98 individuals.

Six individuals from South Carolina were on the list released by the White House, including one person from Myrtle Beach.

John Aundo Gamble was charged with possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base and a quantity of cocaine, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, using, carrying and possessing a firearm during and in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and sentenced

to 240 months’ imprisonment and five years’ supervised release in Aug. 31, 2004.

The release says Gamble’s prison sentence commuted to expire on Oct. 27, 2018, conditioned upon enrollment in residential drug treatment.
