MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- A Myrtle Beach hotel was briefly evacuated after a fire in a parking garage.

According to Chief Alvin Payne with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department, crews responded after people reported seeing smoke coming from the parking garage at the Hotel Blue on South Ocean Boulevard.

Chief Payne told News13 a cigarette butt landed on a pile of cardbord, catching it on fire.

The fire alarms went off, and people were evacuated while crews extinguished the fire.

Chief Payne says part of a pickup truck was burned.
