MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Military Appreciation Days kicked off Sunday in myrtle beach, people celebrated with a concert at the Base Recreation Center.

The city will honor military members all month, including the military appreciation days parade at the end of the month.

This year’s grand marshall will be army veteran and dancing with the stars alum Noah Galloway.

The parade returns to the former Myrtle Beach Air Force base, which is now home to the Market Common.

“You don’t think about it but we were a military town for about 50 years and have a higher number of veterans that live here in Horry County than most places in the country; so we’ve got a very strong military family here and we’re very thankful to have those who chose to live and come back to Myrtle Beach.

The deadline to sign up is May 13th if you want to be in this year’s military appreciation days parade.
