MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Seaboard St. overnight Saturday into Sunday. The fire started at 11:15 Saturday night and the street was blocked off from Stockholder Ave. through 4:00am Sunday morning.
According to Battalion Chief Bruce Arnel the fire started in the warehouse area of Premier Laundry and Linen Supply. Two large commercial industrial dryers and a lot of laundry were near a processing area where it started.
Arnel said the dryers did not appear to be too damaged and preliminarily it looks like a heat source was too close to combustibles, but the exact cause has not been determined. No one was injured and Arnel says the fire does not appear suspicious.
The fire was contained to the interior of the warehouse and was out by 3:00am Sunday. The building suffered heavy heat, smoke and fire damage, but Arnel could not say if it would be a total loss.
