Myrtle Beach event gives first prom experience through 2nd Chance Prom

The Second Chance Prom event is March 7 at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach.

The event benefits Katie’s Project, which helps Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick County teenagers dress for prom.

The charity collects prom gowns, accessories, shoes, and tuxes throughout the year.

As the prom season grows closer, the charity’s need for support also grows.

“They have about 3 more months left when proms are going to be taking place, and they’re going to be helping kids at every school,” said Dewey Brunson, whose business is sponsoring the Second Chance Prom fundraiser.

Kids are the foundation of the next generation. What better way to start than by going to prom and dressing for success,” he said.

General admission to the 80’s-themed Second Chance Prom is $25.00, but people can also purchase VIP tickets.
