Myrtle Beach crash kills 64-year-old woman, injures two others

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A crash in Myrtle Beach Wednesday morning killed one person and sent two others to the hospital.

Lt. Jonathan Evans with Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue says the crash happened around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday. The wreck involved two cars and happened near the Myrtle Beach Fire station on Mr. Joe White Avenue, adds Evans.

Two patients were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, and one person died in the crash, confirms Evans. The condition of the two hospitalized victims was not immediately known.

Robert Edge Jr. with the Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 64-year-old Joan C. Banks-Miller. According to Edge, she was a passenger in one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the scene from internal injuries.

Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police confirms officers are at the scene of the crash Wednesday afternoon. Drivers were asked to avoid the area of Mr. Joe White Avenue near White Street while officers conduct the investigation.
