MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – On Tuesday Myrtle Beach City Council passed an emergency ordinance that closes all drinking establishments within the Superblock at 2 a.m.
City of Myrtle Beach spokesperson Mark Kruea says the ordinance is in effect immediately.
Saturday morning, five people were shot at the Pure Ultra Club which prompted parking restrictions in the area and also the ordinance.
“We have had issues with those early morning hours for a number of years now,” said Kruea. “We’ve had issues with other incidents at establishments in the Superblock. The time is now to do something about it.”
Police still search for a suspect believed to be involved in the Saturday morning shooting at Pure Ultra Club.
