Myrtle Beach Cab driver arrested again for Criminal Sexual Conduct

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach cab driver was arrested after he was found naked on the beach with an unconscious woman.

Alqi Dhimo is charged with kidnapping, attempted criminal sexual conduct, and indecent exposure.

Dhimo owns Atlantic Cab and he has been arrested before.

He was charged last year with criminal sexual conduct, but prosecutors dropped the charges because the victim or witness either refused or was unable to attend the hearing.

The city of Myrtle Beach regulates its permits every year through the police department.

According to the city’s website, a criminal back ground check through the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is required to receive a cab permit.

Lieutenant Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department says in Dhimo’s 2014 case, because there was no conviction his license would not have been revoked

Dhimo now faces charges of kidnapping with no bond set.

Lt. Crosby says he is not sure what, if any, license restrictions are in place during the interim between charges and court dates.

Dhimo’s company Atlantic Cab is still operating within the city.

News 13 reached out to the number listed for Dhimo’s company; however no one returned our call.
