MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation and the City of Myrtle Beach are excited to announce a new destination festival this fall celebrating the multitude of local seafood eateries along the Grand Strand. The Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival, slated for Saturday, October 15, will be a one day, must attend culinary extravaganza located downtown Myrtle Beach between 8th and 9th Avenues North along Ocean Boulevard. From fish to shellfish, and oysters, crabs and all things crustaceous, fresh seafood makes Myrtle Beach such a popular vacation destination and attendees will be able to get their fill at the festival.

“We are happy to provide an affordable, family-friendly event that not only spotlights the numerous seafood dining options in Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas, but will draw attendees to our beautiful Boardwalk entertainment area” said Lauren Clever with the Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation. The festival will kick-off at 11 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., and in addition to a variety of seafood vendors, it will offer free admission, kid-friendly activities, a beer & wine garden and live entertainment. There will be non-seafood options for those wanting something different. Coastal Tailgating will be hosting a corn hole tournament on the festival grounds at 1 p.m., with registration open at 11 a.m.

While exploring the local seafood culinary scene along the beach, festival attendees can listen to some great beach music. Well known in the Carolinas for their signature “Beach Music” sound, Jim Quick & Coastline will open the festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the legendary group from Atlanta, Georgia, The Tams, will headline the festival from 5-7 p.m. Various artists will perform in between.

Festival organizers are accepting vendor and exhibitor applications, which can be found on the event website. Business members of the Oceanfront Merchants Association and businesses with a valid City of Myrtle Beach business license will receive discounted vendor fees, if approved. Parking will be available throughout the downtown area surrounding the festival.
