The old terminal building at Myrtle Beach International Airport could get a multi-million-dollar facelift.
This week, the Airport Advisory Committee voted to ask Myrtle Beach County Council to approve $3.5 million to renovate the exterior of the nearly 25-year-old terminal building.
The building has sat virtually empty and largely un-used since the terminal opened last year.
There are no firm plans for a tenant to take over the old building or permanent plans for its full use in the near future.
Committee members who did not vote in favor of the renovations questioned the funding plans and told the Sun News it was hard for them to justify the expense because the building might remain empty.
County council will have second reading of the plans next week.
