MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) There are many reasons why Ford Mustang owners love their cars.
“American heritage,” Darrell Lee of Columbia said. “I mean it stands for a lot symbol freedom and power.”
The emblems are easily recognized, the logo is iconic and the sound of the engine is a staple of this muscle car
“Just knowing that you have the power beneath you. it’s a rush,” Lee said.
Michael Bibbee of Boone, North Carolina shows off his 2003 Cobra. His love for this didn’t begin until much later.
“I loved Chevys I don’t know why,” Bibbee said.
He says he got his first Mustang when he graduated from high school, the first of many more to come.
“This is my 14th, kind of a car problem,” Bibbee said.
Each on is unique in it’s own way, it’s part of the reason he says he loves working on them.
“I can make them my own. You can do unlimited things to them and never run out of things to do. I’ve had all of this wrinkle coated black, i’ve had the valve covers wrinkle coated black I did the pulley white they come factory grey,” Bibbee said.
Whether the hood is up and on display or the engine on and ready to cruise, this American classic is a favorite for those who own them or just watch them drive by.
