MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WBTW) – The future of fireworks in Murrells Inlet is in question. The Marshwalk Restaurant Association will not host the Monday night fireworks this summer due to environmental concerns from half of its group.
Mike Campbell, who owns Dead Dog Saloon, says corporate sponsors were beginning to back out of the event, too. He says the group will conduct environmental studies over the next year to determine whether or not the show will be back for 2016.
