Murder suspect extradited to Horry County, no bond set

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) -The man Horry County Police say killed a pregnant, 22-year-old woman from New York has been extradited back to South Carolina.

Online booking records from J. Reuben Long Detention Center reveal accused murderer Christopher Kalb has been moved from Brunswick County to Horry County.

At a hearing this morning, bond could not be set for Kalb  because the magistrate court cannot set bond for murder charges. Kalb’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 6, 2017.

Kalb is charged with murder in the shooting death of his former girlfriend who was four months pregnant with his child.

Lt. Bonner says Kalb was arrested on an unrelated charge in Brunswick County in April, and a murder warrant was later issued for Kalb in the woman’s death. Bonner could not go into detail in regards to what evidence led detectives to pursue the murder charge, and confirms the warrant will be served when Kalb is extradited to South Carolina.

Kalb was booked into J. Reuben Wednesday.
