MARION, SC (WBTW) – A murder charge in a 2016 Marion Huddle House shooting has been dismissed due to the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law.

According to the public index, murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime charges were dismissed by a judge on February 21.

Solicitor Ed Clements confirms the charges were dismissed due to the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law.

A man was shot at a Huddle House restaurant on US 76 in Marion in November 2016. Police Chief Dewayne Tennie previously said the victim was in critical condition, but later died.

Marion County Deputy Coroner James Lee identified the victim as Raishaun Graves, 20, of the Rains Community.
