MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina Highway Patrol reports three separate car crashes on Highway 501 have completely closed the northbound lanes near Carolina Forest Boulevard Wednesday night.
South Carolina Highway Patrol online traffic website reports the first crash happened at 7:21 p.m. near Gardner Lacy Road. No injuries are reported in that incident.
The second collision happened around 7:33 p.m. and does involve injuries. Troopers have not identified how many people are hurt in the wreck. The third wreck occurred immediately after the second at 7:34 p.m. near Gardner Lacy Road. No details have been reported on this crash so it us unclear if there are any injuries involved.
Drivers are asked to avoid heading northbound on Hwy 501 at Carolina Forest Boulevard if possible. Emergency crews are on scene treating victims and clearing wreckage. Troopers have not said how long it may take for the northbound lanes to be reopened.
