FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Two acres of land in Florence on South Cashua Drive and Second Loop Road have been purchased for 1.1 million dollars.

Bradley Callicott with Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation says the company purchased the land as an investment for the future.

The company says it’s the land’s location in the commercial district, that makes it so valuable.

No strict plans have been made for the purchase.

The land was previously owned by Ruby Kemmerlin and was known in the area as “Mrs. Ruby’s Corner”.

Mrs. Ruby’s Corner was known for the old 1950’s model Pink Cadillac and the many livestock that could be seen from the roadway.

The original asking price for the two acres was 1.4 million dollars.
