A crash Friday morning in Horry County killed a motorcycle rider.
The crash happed just after 11:30am on Highway 90, near the intersection of East Cox Ferry Road, about half a mile east of Conway.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins says the rider of a 1994 Suzuki motorcycle headed west on Highway 90 struck the right side of an eastbound 1997 Chevy four-door, as the Chevy driver turned left off the highway into a private parking lot. Collins says the Chevy driver failed to yield the right of way to the bike rider.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden says the crash killed Walter Curtis Bass, 27, from Conway. Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet.
No charges are filed at the time of this posting, but the crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
