MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – A local motorcycle club will host a benefit ride to help raise money to rebuild the Huntington Beach State Park Nature Center that burned down on July 20.
According to a press statement by Georgetown County Public Information Officer Jackie Broach, the investigation of the fire scene indicates the probable cause of the fire was a lightning strike.
An event posted on Facebook says the Reapers will meet anyone interested in riding Sunday, September 18 at 9 a.m. at Suck Bang Blow for the ride and poker run. At each stop, the rider will draw a card to try and win with the best poker hand.
The club plans to ride to Half Shell, Islander Bar and Grill, Buzzs Roost, and finally passing through Huntington Beach State Park to end the ride back at Suck Bang Blow.
The club will also be auctioning off fishing trips, scuba lessons, fitness classes, and restaurant gift cards.
The motorcycle club says any money raised during the event will be donated to help the nature center and take care of any other needs within the state park.
