Mom killed in front of her 2 kids during possible road rage incident

KANSAS CITY, MO  — The woman’s 6-month-old and 3-year-old sons were in the vehicle when she was shot and killed.

“She was the best mom I knew,” Dylan Gray tells WDAF, about his sister Whitney.

Witnesses told police they saw Whitney engaged in a road rage incident with Christopher Taylor before the shooting. Witnesses say Taylor tailgated Whitney, passed her and almost caused her to crash.

According to court documents, Whitney’s 16-year-old niece threw some type of liquid on Taylor’s vehicle when he pulled up beside the vehicle. Later, witnesses say Taylor pulled a gun and shot Whitney as she drove. She was mortally wounded with a gunshot to the chest.

The mom was able to safely pull the van over to the side of the road before she died.

Taylor would later be arrested in South Dakota and charged with second-degree murder. Dylan tells WDAF he wants the maximum punishment for the suspect. “I think the death penalty; really that`s what I’d like to see.”
