SIMPSONVILLE, SC – A missing 17-year-old could be with a man accused of murdering his wife, according to police.
A missing person’s report was filed for Hannah Thompson.
She’s the girlfriend of accused murderer John Tufton Blauvelt, according to Chief Steven Moore.
The report says her mother thinks she is with him.
She is described as 5 feet 4 inches and weighing 150 to 160 pounds with long brown hair, brown eyes and braces.
The chief thinks she may be in danger because of Blauvelt’s violent tendencies and her age and being so far from home.THE MURDER
John is the estranged husband of Catherine Blauvelt.
He was charged in her murder in late October.
Blauvelt is on the run according to Simpsonville police, but a second man has been charged in the killing and is under arrest.
Blauvelt left town before Nov. 15 and the Army reported him AWOL before that, according to Simponsville Police Chief Steve Moore.
He says John was a suspect all along because of his past with Catherine Ann Blauvelt.
Moore says there were domestic abuse calls to their home in Fountain Inn.
Catherine was found dead in a home at 817 Southeast Main Street in Simpsonville on October 26. Arrest warrants state a knife was used to kill her.
He says they had to gather the evidence to get probable cause against him for warrants.
Police say John Blauvelt’s last known location was at the Las Cruces, New Mexico border on Nov. 15. He was driving a 2000 GMC Yukon with South Carolina license plate JKY-829.
Simpsonville police have charged a second man in connection with the killing who was already in jail on another charge.
Charles Sidney Scott Jr., 31, is charged with murder.
Both men are also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Scott is being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.
Simpsonville police say arrest warrants were served in the case on November 18.
