BUNCOMBE, NC – A baby – born just 15 days ago – was reported missing by his mother in Buncombe Co.
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office says the baby has been found and is safe.
Lt. Randy Sorrells says the baby’s mother was partying the night before the disappearance.
The baby is now in DSS custody and the investigation is still going on.
There have been no charges field against the mother.
Deputies were looking for Kevin Ray Branam, 26, of Leicester, and 29-year old Jessica Daniel Heavner, because they were the last people reported to have seen the newborn.
The sheriff’s office says they are acquaintances of the child’s family and were never suspects or persons of interests.
