FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (AP) – The Coast Guard has found a kayaker reported missing along the South Carolina coast during the weekend while the search for a second continues.
Officials say that 22-year-old Dean Britt and 21-year-old Logan Brown were reported missing Saturday night after they left earlier in the day to kayak from Folly Beach to the nearby Morris Island Lighthouse near Charleston Harbor.
Early Sunday afternoon Brown was found in his kayak off Kiawah Island and rescued by the crew of a boat from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
A Coast Guard airplane found an overturned kayak about two miles away and the search continues for the other missing kayaker.
