MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – Republican presidential hopeful candidate Jeb Bush visited the VFW Post in Murrells Inlet for a standing-room-only town hall meeting Wednesday night.
Organizers expected about 500 people to attend the event, and as the crowd gathered closer to the 6:30 p.m. time that Bush was expected to arrive, it became difficult to find a seat. Attendees began bringing in chairs from other rooms to squeeze into the small area to listen to possibly America’s next president.
Many anticipate that Bush will speak on the issues of war, the needs of veterans and would be asked questions related to the military.
“I want to know what we’re going to do about the problem with ISIS,” voices voter Whitney Roop. “It’s very concerning. I’m afraid that if we don’t do something about this now, that it’s going to take over the United States. It’s really worrying me.”
Thursday Bush goes to Florence for a meet-and-greet at Venus Restaurant, then on to Sumter for another meet-and-greet at Baker’s Sweets. Bush ends the day with a town hall at Senate’s End in Columbia.
News13 was live at the Bush town hall meeting, and Reporter AJ Janavel will have a complete report of the night’s event on News13 at 11.
