At least one person was hurt in a crash on US 17 in Pawleys Island on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened around 2:40 pm in the southbound lanes of Ocean Highway at Martin Luther King Jr. Road and Brown Lane.
By 3 pm, traffic was backed up at least a mile from the crash site — all the way to the Litchfield area. Another crash, with no injuries, was reported around 3 pm in the traffic back-up area.
By 4 pm, traffic back-ups were limited to the immediate areas of each crash.
In the initial crash, one car apparently suffered heavy front-end damage in the crash, in which 2 ambulances were dispatched.
Midway Fire and Rescue responded to the crash. No other details were immediately available.
