NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Four men were impacted by a nearby lighting strike on the beach Thursday afternoon.
City spokesperson Pat Dowling says four males from North Carolina between the ages of 31 and 57 were surf fishing on the beach in the 6200 North block when they were impacted by a nearby lightning storm.
Dowling says the strike or strikes did not directly hit the men, but were close enough to render one unconscious for a short period of time.
The man was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
