BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) -The sheriff’s office has charged an 18-year-old they say pointed a firearm at someone and threatened to kill them just hours after he was out on bond.
Stephen Tyrek Covington, 18, of Bennettsville, has been charged with pointing and presenting a firearm, resisting arrest, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Covington was arrested on Tuesday after a brief foot pursuit.
He is accused of pointing a firearm at another person and threatening to kill that person on Friday. Investigators say he’d just been released on bond from the Marlboro County Detention Center for assault and battery, first degree.
Covington is being detained at the Marlboro County Detention Center and is awaiting bond.
