MANNING, S.C. (WBTW) – Tuesday the Clarendon Health System Board of Trustees made an agreement with McLeod Health to take over operations of the Manning health system.
Effective immediately, McLeod Health will operate the facility, now to be known as McLeod Health Clarendon. McLeod will operate the hospital, wellness center, nine medical practices, Cypress Center meeting hall, and the hospital-owned EMS service which is under contract to Clarendon County.
The agreement will not extend the nursing facilities in Summerton and the facility in St. Stephen, and those offices will still be under the Clarendon Hospital District.
As part of the agreement by the board, McLeod Health will assume the debt obligations of Clarendon Health, which will reduce taxes for property owners in Clarendon County, according to the news release.
McLeod Health currently operates six hospitals in the area including McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, McLeod Cheraw, McLeod Darlington, McLeod Dillon, McLeod Loris, and McLeod Seacoast in North Myrtle Beach, along with 85 medical practices and Urgent Care Centers in Florence and Darlington.
