McColl town council member previously arrested in 2017 for DUI arrested again in Bennettsville

A McColl town council member who was previously arrested in 2017 was arrested again in Bennettsville. 

A press release from the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office says Franklin Vanduwey Carlisle, 51, of McColl, was arrested during a traffic stop in Bennettsville on Tuesday. Carlisle was arrested as the result of an investigation by the MCSO.

According to the release, Carlisle is charged with driving under suspension for DUI and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center and will have a bond hearing on Wednesday. 

Carlisle was previously arrested in February 2017 for DUI after hitting a cyclist with his car.
