WALLACE, SC (WBTW) – The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that the two missing juveniles have been safely located.
Lt. Jamie G Seales with the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office says the two and the stolen car were located in another state and the families are traveling to pick them up.
The sheriff’s office says they will be consulting with the Solicitors Office and the DJJ about possible charges.
15-year-old Joshua Crowley and 13-year-old Darian Hewitt were last seen in the early morning hours Sunday, according to Chief Deputy Charles Lemon. Someone saw the teens leave Hewitt’s home on Dennis Lane in Wallace, Lemon said. They were in her father’s truck he said. That truck is now considered stolen, according to Lt. Jamie Seales.
Lemon explained that Crowley apparently walked to Hewitt’s house where she came outside to meet him. Investigators believe the teens took camping supplies and canned goods, as well as the Hewitts’ black lab dog, Lemon added.
Investigators are searching phone records, and witnesses and SLED are assisting in the case, Lemon said. Anyone who can help in the case is asked to call 843-479-5605 to speak to an investigator at the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.
Lemon described the stolen truck as a gold-colored 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Z71, with South Carolina tag BWL 255. It also has an extended cab with a diamond plated toolbox and a sticker of Jesus with a crown of thorns in the back window. A Gamecocks plate is in the front license plate area.
Crowley is a white male with black hair and blue eyes. He is 5’6″ and 160 lbs.
Hewitt is a white female with brown hair and eyes. She is 5’9 and 110 lbs.
