MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- The chief of the Marion Rural Fire Department was hurt after falling off a parked tanker while responding to a large brush fire Saturday afternoon, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Crews responded to the brush fire on Highway 501 Business North off Robin Road. In a post on the department’s Facebook page, it says the chief was filling the tanker at the brush fire with structures involved when the accident occurred.
He was taken to a hospital in Marion Saturday and was in ICU but in a post Sunday afternoon, the department says he was released from the hospital and all tests came back normal.
