MARION, S.C. (WBTW)- A former Marion County music teacher was arrested Wednesday for “inappropriate relations” with a student.
According to the Marion Police Department, Ronny Cain Rogers of Dillon was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct – 3rd degree and attempted criminal sexual conduct – 3rd degree.

Multiple viewers sent News13 a copy of a letter they say they got from the school district.
The Marion County School District released a statement saying, ” The Marion County School District has is aware that an inappropriate situation may have occurred between an Easterling Primary / Marion Intermediate School teacher and a student. This incident is currently under police investigation. The teacher is no longer actively employed with the District and the District has received the teacher’s resignation. Any further questions should be addressed to the Marion County Police Department.”
Chief Dewayne Tennie said bond for Rogers was denied Thursday morning.
