MARION, SC (WBTW) – Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a county detention center officer Wedneday afternoon, according to Sheriff Mark Richardson.
Justina Hayes, 35, of Mullins is now facing a charge of unlawful neglect of a child. Richardson said his investigators believe Hayes failed to protect a 14-year-old child from being beaten by another child.
Hayes was expected to make her first court appearance on Thursday afternoon, Richardson said. Hayes was in custody at J. Reuben Long detention center in Horry County on Thursday morning.
