MULLINS, S.C. (WBTW) – Clean up after Hurricane Matthew is underway in Nichols.

Now people are trying to clean mold from their homes.

Today volunteers in Marion County gathered to give people impacted by the storm cleaning supplies and food.

The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort based in Nashville, Tennessee provided another 18- wheeler full of supplies.

Over 75 volunteers some from as far away as Conway came to help people hardest hit by Hurricane Matthew.

Beatrice Lewis, a Nichols resident said, “I think it’s good. I really do.”

“This is what people need to do. Come together. A lot of people they don’t care. They really don’t but God has it all under control,” Lewis adds.

The relief effort provided more than 250 people with things like clothes, cleaning supplies, water and food.

Coordinator Eboni Johnson said they may ask for another truck if there’s still a need for help in the community.
