MARION, SC (WBTW) – Marion County businesses helped make someone’s Christmas a little brighter and helped raise money to assist Marion County residents impacted by Hurricane Matthew as well.
Donnie Gerald of Donnie Gerald Auto Sales and his partner Larry Barnhill donated a new car to be raffled off with all of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross Marion County Disaster Relief Fund. Gerald said that his business was happy to donate the car for the raffle and other businesses in the community contributed funds as well.
At a drawing Monday evening, Joyce Fling of Marion was the lucky winner of a Ford Fusion. More than $32,000 was raised in the effort and a check was given to representatives from the Red Cross at the time of the drawing.
