FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says a manhunt for a suspected kidnapper is over.
Maj. Mike Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, says the manhunt started around 1 p.m. Thursday. John Brady Dennis, 30, of Florence, was arrested by deputies in the area of Rico Drive and Church Street, according to Nunn.
Nunn says Dennis is charged with kidnapping, two counts of burglary and domestic violence. Deputies captured the wanted man with the help of the FCSO Tracking Team, Patrol Canine Team and Raptor I.
Investigators say the night of July 12, 2015, Dennis broke into a home on S. Wallace Road through a window, assaulted a victim inside the house and kidnapped a child from the home. Investigators further allege that on or about September 10, 2015 Dennis entered another home illegally on Edsel Road in Florence.
Dennis was transported to the Florence County Detention Center where he will be held pending a bond hearing, according to Nunn.
After Dennis was apprehended a member of the FCSO Tracking Team had to be taken from the scene by EMS for severe dehydration and is being treated at an area hospital.
