KINGSTREE, SC – Williamsburg County deputies arrested a man in connection to a shooting on Lincoln Drive.
24 year old Anthony James Burgess was arrested and charged by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office with Armed Robbery. According to a press release, Burgess turned himself in on June 3.
Investigators say Burgess and Kendall Karon Rious robbed and shot a man on Thursday May 18, 2016. The shooting happened at approximately 9:36 p.m.. PIO/Investigator Alex Edwards says deputies responded to a shooting at 89 Lincoln Drive in Kingstree. Edwards says when deputies arrived they found an 18 year old male who had been robbed and shot. Edwards says the victim’s cell phone was also taken during the armed robbery. The victim is in stable condition, and should make a full recovery.
Anthony Burgess is in custody at the Williamsburg County Detention Center. He will remain in custody until bond is posted.
