MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – A Murrells Inlet man waited outside a convenience store for police after robbing it Monday, according to a Horry County police report.
Police said the incident happened around 6 pm at the Scotchman store on Inlet Square Drive when a man walked in and demanded money.
The clerk told police she thought the man was joking when he said “I need all of your money. It’s God’s will that I take all of your money and go to prison.”
The man took the money and waited outside the store for police to arrive, the report said.
There were no injuries during the robbery.
The man has not been identified by police. They said in a press release they are waiting until he is formally charged.
